Can never have enough Tobalina
"It's Tobalina. But, you get the outdoor settings in this feature, and I have to say, Sheila Parks and Caro are amazing discoveries. If they are in more films, I'm going to find them and buy them, esp. if they were put out by VS."
Anticipation Pond
"Anticipation tells the story of two brothers (Joey Silvera and Jesse Adams) who lust after each others' wives. Thankfully the wives have the same problem, so without any kind of spoiler (this is a Carlos Tobalina movie after all), they end up having a lovely foursome at the end (ahhhh, how sweet!). They talk about their education etc. , as if they're still quite young, but Silvera was around 31 at the time and Adams 33, so there's just no believability in any of it. To make matters worse, the hotter of the two women (at least in my opinion) looks bored and quite frankly fed up during a lot of the sex scenes, so that's no good for the viewer. Being a Tobalina film, before the end we've got a large party and the obligatory orgy. None of the sex scenes are particularly special or interesting in my opinion. I did wonder who played their dear old mum and if she knew what sort of film she was appearing in. The acting is atrocious and there are some really poor technical issues, such as a mic quite clearly being in shot. The highlight is the scene where they show 'what really happened' when Silvera thought he had accidentally shot someone. The idea he could fire a gun and not notice is quite funny in itself, but even funnier that a guy at the bar just randomly pulls out a gun, shoots someone and then calmly puts it back in his pocket without anyone noticing as he wanders off. . . it's hilarious! Flesh Pond is just one giant orgy. There is a storyline, but I can't be bothered to write a sentence to describe it. Some of the women in this are nice looking and a few of the scenes of them going down on one another are okay, but really this is pretty dreadful and probably the worst thing I've seen by Tobalina. Great transfer etc. as always, certainly better than this deserves - well done to VS for doing what many others wouldn't. If you're a Carlos Tobalina fan then check it out, otherwise I'd struggle to recommend it."
Good Tobalina double-feature
"I've been hard on my assessment of other Carlos Tobalina movies, so I was a bit nervous with this one. But have to say that I really enjoyed "Anticipation". I thought the two female leads were beautiful and nice to watch on screen, even if one is certainly not a good actress. Serena showing up later is nice, and I always like Joey Silvera. The story of the wife swapping brothers was amusing enough and this goes to the top of my list of Tobalina directed features. The second one "Flesh Pond" was really no story at all. Ostensibly a hostage situation, but then it's just an orgy and not very artfully staged or filmed. The one sequence I did really like was the early one with Rita Ricardo and the blowup doll. At least all the women in both of these are devoid of implants, always a plus for my enjoyment. The transfers are nice, so despite any real special features, this was a good cheap pickup."
