Art Ben was one of the most prolific cinematographers working in NYC. However, between DP jobs he directed a handful of standout erotic features, including this duo of mid 80s rarities.

WOMEN AT PLAY:
Beautiful Paula Meadows stars as a stage director, Wallis Greene, who is putting together an erotic play. Casting a group of young vixens in the roles, the young actresses decide to take a 'method' approach to studying up for their parts and embark on a series of erotic adventures, all the while making their husbands question where their wives go each night after dark.

GOOD GIRLS, BAD GIRLS:
An actress in a controversial sex themed stage show has been found murdered. Hard-nosed cop, Mark Costa (Joey Silvera) is on the case and soon finds himself in a bizarre and kinky world of erotic theatre, all the while dealing with the day-to-day struggles in his own romantic relationships. Co-starring Colleen Brennan, Sharon Mitchell, and Taija Rae.

Reviews

Good, Bad, Not Ugly

"Good Girls, Bad Girls is the stand out feature of the two to me. Taija Rae looks incredible in her scenes (especially the threesomes). The transfer by VS is incredible, and the colors really pop off the screen. Great double bill."

Awesome double feature. Great vintage

"Awesome double feature. Great vintage classics directed by Art Ben."

Dorfman Double-Feature

"At Play: features a good transfer for DVD but the film itself feels a little too contrived as an 80s pastiche sitcom. Good/Bad Girls: Dorfman does it better for the second feature in the Disc with a noir set tale of erotica."

personally, these two films weren’t

"personally, these two films weren’t my favorite, but they’re visually stunning so I think that alone is worth buying but as for plot or anything else really I found myself often distracted but again for product this good quality. I’m not really gonna complain."

Not Good

"Let's start with Women at Play. The film features horrible, repetitive music throughout. In every sex scene, there's a lot of sweat and fluids (not the ones you'd expect) everywhere... it isn't nice to watch! One of the guys has a huge purple sore of some description on his penis - I feel sorry for the actress who ended up with that thing in her mouth! It ends with an aggressive sex scene and then the audio seems to malfunction, with the music sounding like a heavily warped record. I'm trying to think of something good to say about it, but I'm honestly unable to think of anything. 'Good Girls, Bad Girls' had a great looking poster, but really didn't live up to it. It starts off as the other one more or less finished - another aggressive sex scene. After the ape has shot his load, you can clearly see the shadows moving from people behind the camera. I had made some other notes, but I appear to have misplaced them. Suffice to say I wasn't impressed with this film either and in all honesty, I wouldn't recommend this release."
