A Distribpix Double Feature

"This was an early collaboration between VS and legendary distributor Distribpix Inc., who are nowadays working hand-in-hand. Both features were directed by Bill Milling, who also made "Wolfpack", which came out as a VSA later. Vixens is clearly the better movie and a ton of fun. It doesn't take itself seriously at all and totally goes for its ridiculous premise. Add the two clown Princes of porn (Jamie Gillis and Bobby Astyr) and you get one of the most entertaining films of the golden age era. Oriental Blue was alright too and also stars the two dudes, along with Kim Pope. While Vixens was restored from its original camera negative and looks amazing, OB was sourced from a print and looks significantly grungier. No extras."

"Already had Vixens via the 5 years release but worth it enough for Oriental Blue at the sale price."

Asian Exploitation

"This is a weird collection of disks, running from exploitation horror, real oddities, softcore nudie/cuties to early 70s hardcore. This disk falls into the latter variety, and I’m really not sure what sort of ‘drive-in’ would be showing these! These are grindhouse films - and although I’m not sure whether any sort of restoration has been applied, given the vintage the prints are in very good condition. These disks, being on the VS label, are being discontinued so grab them while you still can. As for the films themselves - they’re more curiosities - a time capsule of the industry at the time, than genuinely titillating - but for all that, they are entertaining. Oops - got my disks mixed up for my review of ‘The First Time/Oriental Babysitter’ - but to be honest, in many ways they are interchangeable. Those two films are a couple of years later, and a little harder, but the use of ‘oriental’ and associated tropes holds true for both. Bill Milling is a little more old school exploitation than Anthony Spinelli, so the earlier films feel like the back end of indie/cutie becoming porn than the Spinelli films, which are all the way there."

Hilarious

"Great restoration by VS as always! Vixens of Kung-Fu features the worst martial arts ever put to film, I love it."

Jakob P. (4/5)

Weird Erotica!!

"I bought this for Oriental Blue, but The Vixens of Kung Fu was also excellent. Super strange stuff that could’ve only came from the 70s! These old double pack DVDs are a deal!"
