Don Davis was a maverick filmmaker from the tail end of the sexploitation era. His films are a bawdy blend of voluptuous naked women and wacky plot lines. Vinegar Syndrome presents three of his rare films, newly restored from Davis' personal prints.

Marsha the Erotic Housewife (1970):
A beautiful housewife discovers that her husband is having an affair, so while he's away on business she decides to embark on some erotic sexcapades of her own.

For Single Swingers Only (1968):
At an apartment complex for swingers, beautiful young women can explore their fantasies and make their inner most desires come true. However, is there a steep price to pay for this supposed erotic paradise?

Her Odd Tastes (1969):
A woman embarks on a worldwide quest for sexual fulfillment, experimenting in the exotic jungles of Africa to the swinging beaches of California, no desire left unfulfilled.

"Don Davis sexploitation triple bill. Release in 2015 by Vinegar Syndrome, now unfortunately OOP."

Triple feature of 60s sleaze

"Incomprehensible gibberish, but its a fun time if you like this kind of stuff. And each movie is barely over an hour, so they're perfect to throw on late at night."

Marsha the Bored Housewife

"What a strange set of films. I guess these a ‘nudie cuties’, but there’s nothing really cute about them. They walk alone if trying to be titillating without being explicit, and are just very, very boring. The first feature, ‘Marsha The Erotic Housewife’ despite being dated 1970 appears to have been beamed from the 1950s and is the full tale of a marriage from the excitement of the wedding night through domestic tedium and marital infidelity which then just stops at a point where seemingly no-one is happy. It’s a strong argument against marriage. The sexiest of the films here is the third feature, ‘Her Odd Tastes’, which seems to have been an afterthought. It does at least explore lesbianism and have some genuinely erotic imagery when compared with the flat rather chaste gayer offered by the other two films. I guess stag films were where the real action was at the time, so these are nothing more than a curiosity at what cinema was trying to do before relaxation of the rules meant more explicit material, or the genuine ‘nudie cutie’ reached it’s zenith with Russ Meyer et al."

Best Marsha?

"It'll be interesting to see if this gets a new blu-ray with the new site. I hope so! The DVD quality does look surprisingly good. There is a ton of print damage. If that bothers you, it may be best to stay away. I bought this for Her Odd Tastes, which is probably the best Marsha Jordan showcase."

Spencer D. (5/5)

I was unfamiliar with Don

"I was unfamiliar with Don Davis's films before getting this disc, but he definitely had his own style. Fairly strong dramas. I would've appreciated some extras about Davis as I know nothing about him."

Jason M. (4/5)

Going OOP!

"I bought this because it's going out of print, and I will fund my 2025 subscription with it. Nuff said. :D"
