Carlos Tobalina was one of the most prolific, X rated filmmakers of the 1970's and 80's directing upwards of 50 feature films, and MARILYN ranks as one of his most outrageous endeavors. William Margold stars as 'The Senator,' who, despite being married, agrees to impregnate a beautiful CIA agent. As complications ensue with the senator's ability to 'perform', his wife and associates become increasingly suspicious of his affairs, resulting in a myriad of bizarre plot twists and revelations.

Co-starring Serena, Sharon Thorpe, Dominique St Clair, as well as a cameo from John Waters star Liz Renay, MARILYN AND THE SENATOR is coming to home video for the first time in its full length director's cut, scanned from the 35mm camera negatives.

Reviews

a bit slow, but historically subversive

"Fun idea to connect burgeoning porn market to mid-70s political scandal. Disc looks nice."

Marilyn and the Senator

"Great transfer of a pretty boring and more of a political comedy film than an adult film. Sharon Thorpe is always worth watching and the other actresses are attractive. The Bill Margold commentary track is great though."

Bill Margold we love

"Is this one of Carlos Tobalina's best efforts? Absolutely not. As always, for Tobalina-heads (aka worthwhile humans) it's not too bad at all. But really what matters here is arguably the greatest commentary track of all time with Bill Margold. So grateful this exists!"

William M. (3/5)

Marilyn and the Senator

"Directed by Carlos Tobalina. . Co written by and starring Bill Margold!. . . . Made in 1975. This 'serious' piece of political commentary comes in directors cut form. And features a further commentary from Senator Margold himself!😂. . . Good stuff!!!"

Long

"Marilyn and the Senator is supposed to be a comedy and not only that, but a big F U to government. What it actually is however, is an unfunny and overly long non-erotic movie which makes relatively little sense. The leading man is not at all attractive (not really what I'm looking at anyway) but to be honest none of the scenes are all that well shot. In particular, there's a shot involving a mirror where you can clearly see the cameras and a cameraman who turns around and faces away in an attempt to hide! It's pitifully amateur. The only thing which makes it stand out from other Carlos Tobalina films is that there are no orgies, or at least if they were then I must've nodded off and missed them! The artwork is pretty cool, but that's probably the best thing I can say about it."

A Reel Too Far

"Or perhaps three. Ultra cheapie production with a run of the mill cast (with the exception of spicy Sharon Thorpe), made by a director who obviously found it impossible to edit any scene or turn off the camera. Despite having a premise that could have resulted in a truly top-notch erotic comedy, the film drags for twice the length necessary."

Funnier than expected

"As a saucy comedy, I laughed at this more than I expected. Recommended."

Another Carlos Tabalina comedy and

"Another Carlos Tabalina comedy and its a winner! This looks as good as any of his other films, and you get a commentary track with a writer/star of the film for some insightful background. Take a senator, a beautiful CIA agent, and the usual sexual hijinks of a Tobalina film, and you get an idea where this one is going."

So bad it's (almost) good.

"About six minutes in, William Margold takes a long, loud smelly shit. He then walks out of the bathroom and says, “Awww. There’s nothing like taking a good shit in the morning”. Don’t let anyone tell you that Carlos Tobalina isn’t the Master of Eroticism. About 32 minutes in, Sharon Thorpe shows up in a red dress to fuck Margold and we’re finally off to the races. Good thing Tobalina is at the helm and he knows that the best use of Sharon Fucking Thorpe is to have her suck on Margold’s limp dick, while being constantly interrupted by terrible dialogue as the camera goes in and out of focus. About 50 minutes in, Heather Leigh practices giving a blowjob to a rotten banana. About 60 minutes in, I wondered how my life had led to this point. About 79 minutes in, Thorpe teaches Nina Fause how to give a blowjob by sucking on the Nina’s finger. Tobalina, Master of Eroticism that he is, knows that the sexiest way to film this is to keep the finger just out of frame while making sure the camera stays out of focus. About 105 minutes in, Fause has a quick conversation with Margold’s limp dick, asking it why it can’t stay hard long enough to get her pregnant. His limp dick talks back. Watching this happen is Margold’s character’s wife and his male secretary named Queep. They’re able to do so because there’s a hidden camera in the room, somehow catching all the action from behind a plant. About 125(!!) minutes in, there’s a quadruple homicide. Sorry everybody, but this one’s sold out."
