Alex deRenzy's hippy themed fairy tale tells the story of Mom and her two young daughters who live in a trailer in the woods. Although warned to stay out of the dark and dangerous forest, the sisters do not heed their mother's advice and are kidnapped by a gang of pirates who live in an abandoned swimming pool. When she discovers that her daughters are gone, Mom goes on a journey to find them, meeting singing cross-dressers, a lesbian gang, gay monks and an elf named Derek. Will she save the day and bring her daughters home safely? Find out in what may be the weirdest film deRenzy ever made.

Love the drive-in vibe of

"Love the drive-in vibe of the double-feature. It's a good one."

Entertainingly weird early De Renzy

"Early De Renzy, and very San Francisco in tone. Little Sisters was my favourite of the two, with it's deranged fairytale story of two girls setting off into the woods and getting tied up in the battle between a mean hells angels-type gang and a group of sexy militant lesbians. There's also a smoking hot gay orgy in the middle of it, so the whole thing feels very queer. Powder Burns is less interesting, though it's snapshot of early 70s Tijuana gives it some merit."

Little Sisters / Powder Burns

"Quality transfers of two fairly obscure early 1970s Alex deRenzy films. I'm glad I was able to pick these up before they went out of print."

More deRenzy!

"Little Sisters offers a poignant glimpse into the lives of its characters, deftly balancing moments of humor and heartbreak. The narrative revolves around the challenges of self-discovery and acceptance, beautifully portrayed through the lens of friendship and familial ties. The performances are heartfelt and genuine, making it easy for viewers to connect with the characters’ struggles and triumphs. Powder Burns shifts gears with a gripping storyline that combines elements of suspense and drama. Set against a backdrop of moral dilemmas and personal conflicts, it delves into the darker aspects of human nature. The cinematography is striking, effectively enhancing the tension and emotional weight of the narrative. The cast delivers powerful performances that keep you on the edge of your seat. Together, these films create a thought-provoking exploration of life’s complexities. The direction and writing in both pieces are commendable, making this DVD a worthy addition to any collection. The thematic depth and strong character development ensure that audiences will find something to reflect on long after the viewing experience."
