This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) was limited to 2,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

Freddie is the school nerd and can’t seem to score a date with any of the girls, let alone with heartthrob Mary-lou (Rene Bond, Frankie & Johnnie Were Lovers) who would rather go out with class clown and bad boy Buddy (Rick Lutze, Taxi Girls), who himself is more interested in playing practical jokes with his best friend, Moose, but their ‘harmless’ pranks only get them into perpetual trouble with their stern teacher, who has her own special way of dishing out corporal punishment. With senior prom around the corner, Freddie decides that he needs to get a date with Mary-lou, and becomes determined to win her affection at any cost.

The first hardcore feature directed by exploitation filmmaking demigod, James Bryan (Don’t Go in the Woods, The Executioner Pt. 2), HIGH SCHOOL FANTASIES is a fun, fast paced, and loving tribute to late 50s/early 60s Americana that’s geared as much towards the drive-in circuit as it is the raincoat crowd. Featuring an original rock soundtrack and extensive period detailing, Vinegar Syndrome is proud to offer HIGH SCHOOL FANTASIES on disc for the very first time and newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative.

Reviews

Fun ‘70s sex comedy from the director of Don’t Go in the Woods!

"High School Fantasies (1974), directed by James Bryan, is a delightfully cheeky little comedy that delivers exactly what it promises. The film boasts a terrific cast, with Larry Barnhouse, Rene Bond, and Ric Lutze all giving spot-on performances. Special mention goes to Leonard Shoemaker, who is hilarious as Perwin, the homosexual teacher. The plot, built around the classic aphrodisiac gimmick of a Spanish fly, is simple but surprisingly effective, leading to plenty of silly, energetic, and very ’70s-style shenanigans. It’s light, breezy, and genuinely funny in its own unpretentious way. I’m really hoping the fine folks at Mélusine also give us a release of Bryan’s 1975 Beach Blanket Bango, which reunites several of the same cast members, including Barnhouse, Bond, and Lutze. Fingers crossed!"

High School Fantasies - Blu-Ray review

"Bought it on a sale without knowing anything about the movie but I really enjoyed it. The storyline wasn't anything groundbreaking but it was fun and enjoyable as it should be. I can't honestly say it is a must have movie but in a sale grab it without a second thought."

NIKOS D. (4/5)

Unofficial 3 American Graffiti movie

"Sure, you could do a double feature of this with "American Graffiti" but why watch the same movie twice? I would vote for this film and "More American Graffiti" to get a perfect "not actually American Graffiti" night going. This is porno spoof done right."

Early 70s Sleaze

"Early 70s Adult title, with a 50s style theme to it. I enjoyed it for what it is. A few hotties in this one as well. Recommendation when it's on sale"

"Love these"

OOP Now

"I was on the fence about this one for awhile, but I did finally snag it before it went OOP. It is as most describe, an american graffiti type plotline with some hardcore scenes shoved in. It will not be rewatched as often as some others."
