Farcical adult movie that's maybe a bit too goofy

"I'll admit, I'm mostly a fan of the more darker, serious '70s adult fare, though I can enjoy some of the more jovial stuff. I didn't enjoy the first film in this set (haven't seen the 2nd one). No bad word about the restoration, which makes this looks very good and with a clear image. But Candy as a character is too naive, the humor can go to the level of slapstick (the hospital scene) and the film basically devolves into a collection of little vignettes that didn't do that much for me."

Nice vintage fun

"Just watched the blu-ray and it looks pretty good. The picture quality is a nice upgrade over the old DVD, and they included some nice extras that fans will probably appreciate. It’s a quirky double feature, but if you’re into vintage adult comedies, it’s worth checking out."

Great Gail Palmer double feature!

"Fantastic set of Films by Gail Palmer/Bob Chinn! And it’s full of the best stars of the late 70’s, I’m so glad I grabbed it before it went OOP!"

So happy I got this.

"These iconic films are a lot of fun and VS/Melusine did a great job with the transfer. Pick this up if you can."

This purchase turned out to

"This purchase turned out to be a lemon. The first movie was mediocre, the second movie was pretty awful. The cover looked promising, and even more exciting than the actual contents within."

It was definitely a nostalgic experience!

"I recently picked up the Blu-Ray edition of "Erotic Adventures of Candy / Candy Goes to Hollywood" from Vinegar Syndrome, available at melusine. com, and I have to say, it was quite the nostalgia trip! First off, the packaging is fantastic. Vinegar Syndrome always excels at creating visually appealing presentations, and this release is no exception. The colorful artwork perfectly captures the cheeky vibe of the films. The reversible cover adds a nice touch, giving fans options for display. As for the film itself, "The Erotic Adventures of Candy" delivers all the over-the-top antics and playful humor you'd expect from a classic adult comedy of its era. The storyline, while not particularly deep, keeps things engaging with a good mix of laughs and steamy moments. Candy's adventures take her to some wildly imaginative scenarios in both films, highlighting the era's fascination with liberation and exploration. The transfer to Blu-Ray is impressive. The visuals are surprisingly crisp, preserving the film's vibrant colors and quirky charm. The audio is also clear, with the soundtrack augmenting the playful, carefree spirit of the narrative. One of the standout features of this release is the bonus content. Vinegar Syndrome has included a variety of extras that provide context and appreciation for the films, such as behind-the-scenes insights and interviews that shed light on the creative processes involved in making these cult classics. Overall, "Erotic Adventures of Candy / Candy Goes to Hollywood" is a fun, lighthearted ride that delivers exactly what fans of 70s adult cinema would want. Vinegar Syndrome has done an excellent job bringing these films to Blu-Ray, making it a worthy addition to any collector's library. Whether you're revisiting Candy's escapades or discovering them for the first time, this release is sure to entertain. Highly recommended!"

Just No

"Welcome to my first review below three stars/reels. . . and it's a double feature a lot of people seem to be fond of. And as one who tries to find something interesting, if not good, in every Melusine purchase, I figured I'd find a few things. But aside from Howie Gordon's performance as Chuck Barris (not sure if can use the actual character name here), who nails every twitch to perfection in the sequel, I'm at a loss. Not sure if Carol Connors is so bad she's good or vice versa, but the Little Annie Fanny act wears thin, the sex is listless and repetitive, and while "Hollywood" is marginally better, the movies commit a cardinal sin where adult is concerned. . . they're boring."

Jim S. (2/5)

Delightful

"Cartol Connors is an absolute delight as the Ingenue who hooks up with a seemingly endless series of sleaze bags."

John B. (5/5)

Fantastic

"Both these movies is great and I highly recommend them. . . Good picture quality and packaging"
