PEEKARAMA presents the wildest, rarest, and most scandalous theatrical hardcore double features. Taking its name from one of the earliest "all action" sex theatre chains, each PEEKARAMA release presents two themed, full length feature films, both meticulously restored, thus giving you the opportunity to enjoy an old fashioned dirty movie double feature at home!

John Hayes was a maverick amongst sexploitation filmmakers whose uniquely literate and often thought-provoking films left their mark on every corner of American genre cinema. Collaborating with producer Chris Warfield, Hayes’ first two hardcore features speak to his interest in death, working class dynamics, and general despair. These films are presented here from Peekarama, restored from their original camera negatives.  Rosemary has spent her entire adult life estranged from her father, who placed her into an orphanage as a girl. Sexually repressed while idealizing the virtues of having a family, she rejects the advances of John, a young policeman who has fallen madly in love with her. After learning of her father’s death, Rosemary begins preparations for his wake, but as each day passes, increasingly strange events occur, causing Rosemary to question whether her father’s spirit is truly gone. A dark study of childhood trauma and grief which gives way to a fully waking dream-like state in its final act, BABY ROSEMARY offers a tremendous leading performance from Sharon Thorpe (SexWorld) along with Leslie Bovee (Lustful Feelings), Candida Royalle (Champagne For Breakfast), and John Leslie (Cry For Cindy). Andrew is nervous about his new job as a night shift cook at a tawdry diner and, after a disastrous first shift, comes home to discover his girlfriend is having an affair. After getting kicked out of his apartment, he gets a new job as a salesman, but realizes, much to his amazement, that he is irresistible to nearly every woman he meets. Using his sex appeal to further his career, everything seems to be going well until he meets hard-nosed lawyer Luana… A lighthearted romantic comedy, HOT LUNCH stars Jon Martin (Tropic of Desire), Desiree Cousteau (Pretty Peaches), and Christine De Shaffer (Pizza Girls).

Great pair

"Really enjoyed both of these, particularly the dark and odd "Baby Rosemary". Starts weird, stays weird, and then really ends out there with a funeral home orgy. Sharon Thorpe gave a great performance. "Hot Lunch" also has some striking moments, though not as impactful. Great artwork, but I really would have enjoyed something more substantial special feature wise - a commentary, a video essay, something. I feel like these movies warranted it."

I find John Hayes a

"I find John Hayes a way underrated director with Grave Of the Vampire, Dream No Evil and hangup so way back when Vinegar Syndrome put out one of his porn outings on DVD I knew I had to get it. Baby Rosemary is still pretty disturbing with some really dark subject matter and a pretty disturbing ending. I love these downbeat anti-porns of the 1970s. Hot Lunch was pretty fun too but it's the more conventional of the two. This upgrade looks fantastic. Really impressed with the picture quality."

Weird combo

"I had bought this release for Baby Rosemary actually, but I ended up liking Hot lunch much more. Reason is that Baby Rosemary is a very weird movie: it does all it can to make the audience feel uneasy. It’s not a bad movie, but it is difficult to enjoy. And the protagonist is a terrible actress, which doesn’t help. A sordid little movie, but not a fun one. Hot lunch is a whole other story: the acting is better, the storyline is fun, it has a nice photography. Very enjoyable, it surprised me. The video quality is good for both, although Hot lunch is much better in this respect too (Rosemary had obviously some print problems in a couple of moments). Overall a satisfying release."

DARIO T. (3/5)

Great duo.

"John Hayes delivers a pair of unorthodox adult movies. Baby Rosemary is an almost DeRenzy / Costello effort with a seedy atmosphere and inclusion of violent scenes. A touch of Through The Looking Glass in the haunted by the father theme. John Leslie is excellent in this, as is the gorgeous Leslie Bovee. Hot lunch is the total opposite, a comedy that breezes along from one unlikely scene to another, although some of the humour is a little deadpan. Jon Martin is great, another talented actor who coudl have crossed over to mainstream. But the film is highlighted by the always delightful Desiree Cousteau who is fabulous and gorgeous as always!"

Good

"A good John Holmes Flick with a great transfer."

I'm Looking Forward To This One

"I hadn't heard of this movie but the cover was intriguing. I noticed there was also a dvd outing of this release, but if there's enough interest to upgrade the release to this quality, there must be something interesting about the release!"

Jake B. (5/5)

A Long-Time Favorite!

"Really happy to upgrade Baby Rosemary to Blu-ray. This film could only have happened in the mid-70s. That climax at the funeral home is utterly surreal. Really love the slipcover on this one, a marked improvement over the original DVD release! This is a film from the era deserving of wider recognition. Hot Lunch is a completely different entity and much funnier. Desiree Cousteau is an absolute delight as always. Recommend this one!!!"

Jason C. (5/5)

Two great upgrades from DVD.

"Two great upgrades of two great 70s adult classics. Now I can finally replace the old DVD. Both films feature some of the finest talent of the time. Gotta love Desiree Costeau in anything she appears in. Lovely slip-cover too."

Lea L. (5/5)

Interesting Films

"Baby Rosemary is not your typical adult film, closer to an Art-House film. I bought the film because I buy anything Leslie Bovee is in, and she does not disappoint. But the subject matter of the film is more depressing than hot. The picture quality is good, the film looks great. I enjoyed the film, and it will keep your attention. But you may not watch this film more than once. Hot Lunch is definitely more light-hearted, but was also a bit strange. The grungy locations of some of the scenes was a bit off putting."

Robert R. (4/5)

Scrappy, offbeat underground double feature

"Baby Rosemary and Hot Lunch are raw, low-budget curios from the fringes of early adult cinema, full of odd energy and DIY charm. They feel more like underground films than polished studio productions, which makes them especially interesting as period artifacts. Mélusine’s presentation cleans them up nicely while preserving their rough texture."
