Decent
"Great release, the quality of the transfer is high and looks good and there are some decent extras on board. It’s not my favorite Metzger but still worth having and watching and going through the extras if you’re a fan of one of the greats."

The biggest stars, best directors, and highest production values; that is a QUALITY X film. These deluxe Blu-ray editions of some of the genre's masterpieces, along with plenty of hidden gems, offer beautiful restorations and plentiful bonus features, all presented in homage to its namesake of esteemed New York film distributor, Mature Pictures, the company which almost single handedly raised the bar for outstanding sex films, and whose films will be included in this fittingly elegant collection.
Set over the course of one sex-filled day at an exclusive Manhattan bordello, lusty madam Maraschino Cherry and her dedicated staff satisfy the desires of their seemingly endless stream of clients. From haggard city employees, brusque businessmen, hopeless romantics, kinky hedonists, and other assorted oddballs, they fulfill any and all fantasies over the course of a hard day’s work. The final film directed by Radley Metzger (The Opening of Misty Beethoven) under his pseudonym of Henry Paris, MARASCHINO CHERRY offers a non-stop tableau of scorching sensuality portrayed by an all-star erotic cast, including Gloria Leonard (Misbehavin’), Annette Haven (SexWorld), CJ Laing (Anyone But My Husband), Leslie Bovee (Tapestry of Passion), and the incredible Constance Money (Mary! Mary!), plus supporting appearances from Eric Edwards (The Fireworks Woman) and Wade Nichols (Take Off). Photographed and edited with Metzger’s trademark eye for visual elegance and a frothy and sophisticated sense of humor, MARASCHINO CHERRY at last comes to Blu-ray from Quality X. Newly scanned and restored in 4K from its 35mm negative, it includes a never-before-heard archival commentary track between Metzger and historian Ashley West, which will at last satisfy many burning questions regarding the making of this erotic classic.

"Great release, the quality of the transfer is high and looks good and there are some decent extras on board. It’s not my favorite Metzger but still worth having and watching and going through the extras if you’re a fan of one of the greats."
"Not the greatest Metzger film, but certainly a lot of fun. Gloria Leonard is top notch as the titular Maraschino Cherry. Excellent supporting cast of New York favorites as well as Haven and Bovee. As always, great extras from Ashley West of the Rialto Report."
"Radley Metzger rarely disappoints. He was a very precise director. The story here is kind of loose, since it's mostly a series of scenes patched together. But you have a very good cast. . . anything with Annette Haven and C. J. Laing has to be in my collection, and they have the best scenes here. Very good restoration, and the archive interview with Gloria Leonard is very interesting."
"While the overall picture quality is good there are some annoying niggles. There's a dust spot at the top of the opening scenes and still quite a lot of dead pixel areas. Was expecting more from a previously released restored film on DVD for the blu-ray."
"And honestly, it's still one of my favorite titles I've grabbed so far. It's incredible that these transfers exist for something like this, not to mention the incredible effort put into the physical release itself. I didn't think I would be a Melusine customer until I saw this slipcover, now I've got a little stack tucked away."
"Quality X has done it again with this release. The restoration is great and there a lot of steamy moments to boot. Don't miss this one. C. J. Laing, Leslie Bovee and Jenny Baxter bring 110% to this one."
"Another fantastic Radley Metzger feature, there is a reason he's so respected in the adult film industry. He really is a great director. Great slapstick humor and satire and we get both Annette Haven and CJ Lang so I was very happy with that. Picture quality is excellent, you can tell alot of work went into this release."
"I found the film very enjoyable with some fun scenes. Good cast. Recommended."
"Metzger films individual scenes well, but the overarching story here was weak. It felt more like an anthology."
"Even though Mélusine released a few Radley Metzger classics in their signature line, they did not reserve that honor for Maraschino Cherry, perhaps because it has a reputation of being one of the lesser Radley Metzger efforts. It sits well in their Quality X line, though, and has some nice extras, including an interesting series of cuts and outtakes, and a pretty booklet featuring an essay by The Rialto Report's Ashley West."
