🔥

"The Peekarama double feature of Velvet High and Summertime Blue pairs a stylish erotic school tale with a sun-soaked coming of age fantasy. What makes this release especially interesting is how both films capture the shifting moods of the golden age, one polished and sultry, the other breezy and wistful."

Buy for Velvet High. Sleep through Summertime Blue.

"Velvet High wins the head-to-head here because Misty Regan. Even Arcadia Lake and Serena can't save Summertime Blue. Hopefully, there's no blu-ray upgrade on this one because I would buy it."

Velvet High / Summertime Blue

"Two great High School oriented fantasies from the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s. John Holmes features with Eric Edwards and Jerry Butler, servicing the likes of Samantha Fox and Misty Regan. . . Fun stuff!. . . Misty features in a Casey Scott audio interview on Velvet!"

John Christopher Disco Double-Feature

"Velvey: transfer looks good for DVD and the feature itself has an amazing soundtrack. That camera just loved Misty Regan. Summertime: Christopher just seemed to have the best soundtracks in his adult films. It's under 70 minutes and pretty self-contained. You better hope you like disco before putting it on."

Great

"Two great looking flicks. An excellent double bill."

Blue Velvet and Summertime High

"She wore blue... velvet... well actually no, they don't wear much at all in these films (obviously!). Velvet High is okay. Some of the scenes are pretty bad and really not all that erotic. There are a couple of others which are actually pretty good, so it really is a mixed bag. I seem to recall it ends with one of the girls getting banged by an overweight teacher (certainly NOT the best scene!). Summertime Blue I really didn't care for all that much. John Holmes movies are usually not my thing and this was no exception. Arcadia Lake has a lesbian scene, although it's really not all that hot (probably one of the better scenes though). She is stunningly attractive, but you get the impression her heart was never really in it. Perhaps it was the whole thing of working with her boyfriend at the time (as I understand it), Eric Edwards. In any event, my pick of the two is Velvet High."
