Reviews

The Welles Factor

"Easily my least favorite of the Kemal Horulu releases from Vinegar Syndrome/ Melusine, but worth having for the Jennifer Welles factor."

Phillip N. (2/5)

Horulu justice

"Not his best efforts but both continue to bolster the truth that Kemal Horulu is one of our most underrated hardcore filmmakers and should never be tossed aside."

William M. (4/5)

The Palace

"This is supposed to be a comedy, although it's generally not that funny. The cheesy voiceover gets annoying and this certainly isn't something you'd watch as a porn movie, that's for sure. It's amusing in places, but I didn't find it all that entertaining overall. Wendy's Palace isn't great either and also suffers from a cheesy voiceover. Neither are erotic and they're both very different to other Kemal Horulu films. Was this really made by the same person responsible for Lustful Feelings? Anyway, perhaps others will get something out of it, but this one wasn't for me."

Sam N. (2/5)

Early Horulu

"Great early Horulu stuff, before he really hit his stride, but worth checking out."

Clint B. (5/5)

Drive In!

"Bring back the Drive in Collection! These double features are a great combo and place to find features you'd never have heard of."

Kyle G. (5/5)

Ok Kemal Horulu films

"The Sexualist never really goes anywhere. Wendy's Palace is about a small town girl who goes to NY eventually becomes a madam."

Kevin K. (3/5)

A Kemal Horulu Double Feature

"This was one of VS's earliest releases (catalogue No. VS-012), but the picture quality still holds up today thanks to the amazing restoration work. We get two early Sexploitation classics from director Kemal Horulu, who used to be professional runner, who even participated in the Olympics during the 50s for his native Turkey. Wendy's Palace is the better of the two and is not a hardcore film, but feels more like a documentary/educational film because of its narrator. Some great NYC shots. The Sexualist is pretty weird (the Gorilla - WTF was that all about?) and feels like a patchwork movie. There are some Hardcore scenes featuring Tina and Jason Russell, but they were obviously filmed later and don't fit into the rest of this comedy at all."

Dominik F. (4/5)

Two lusty sagas resurrected

"Great transfers. The Sexualist is hilarious poking fun at Astrology and the Adult Film Industry. Wendy´s Place a drama of finding love."

Hansi L. (4/5)

Haven't been disappointed yet with

"Haven't been disappointed yet with a Drive-In collection purchase, especially at sale price. Get em while you can."

Chris S. (4/5)

Going to miss finding these

"Going to miss finding these Drive-In Collection dvds in the Bargain Bin. Sometimes VS needs to go back to the low old school prices."
