Off somewhere in the middle of the desert sits the Bar None Dude Ranch, a cathouse for all men...and women. With the law in their pocket and a carefree daily lifestyle, their on-site working girls have it pretty easy. The only problem is a shortage of clients. But when a trio of dim-witted city folk arrive at the ranch, hoping for a more conventional western getaway experience, they quickly find themselves in the midst of a carnal getaway, the likes of which they could never have expected, all the while the new girl, Jennie, whose husband wants her to give up her life at the brothel, is starting to have doubts on her chosen profession, but can't decide if she's ready to give up easy money for the prospect of true love.

A wry blending of low key comedy and light romantic drama, SHOWDOWN is a forgotten treat of late-period theatrical erotica from acclaimed director Henri Pachard. Featuring the talents of Gina Carerra, Sharon Mitchell, Shanna McCollough, Nina Hartley, Patti Petit, Jamie Gillis, Joey Silvera, and Herschel Savage, Vinegar Syndrome presents SHOWDOWN newly restored from its original 35mm negative!

Just alright

"Ok Western with some of the biggest names in the 80s but a little generic."

Kevin K. (3/5)

Cowboy comedy

"The setting should make this pretty low on my list of VS titles. But Nina looks absolutely amazing, and more of her films need to be put out by VS. Lots of hit or miss comedy, but a good selection of scenes in this porno. Again, see it for Nina, as she has a couple of scenes -- one of each flavor -- and the director knows how to shoot her well. This release also has a great picture, which cannot be said for the releases from the other companies."

Kevin C. (5/5)

Cl tty Lickers

"Jamie Gillis, Joey Silvera, and Herschel Savage are city folk off looking for a traditional getaway when they stumble upon a cathouse. From there on things go the way you might expect, so I won't elaborate too much! There's nothing particularly unusual in the sex scenes, but it's quite well filmed and the transfer looks decent. It's a comedy at heart, although I can't say it's all that hilarious. Very watchable, but nothing too special either."

Sam N. (3/5)

Fun on the Ranch: "Showdown"

"Film with little plot and less structure but with a good time vibe that's difficult to resist. Sharon Mitchell (in good form) plays the madam of a countryside brothel that masquerades as a dude ranch. Fun ensues when she picks up a trio of stranded business men. Sexy and filled with a satisfying amount of good-time comedy. A real sleeper in adult films."

brian h. (4/5)

Great transfer

"Great looking transfer for a solid comedy porno."

Kyle G. (5/5)

A Dude Ranch Down on it´s luck

"A fun watch with beautiful models and a pang of nostalghia for the West. Great transfer, thanks VS."

Hansi L. (4/5)

romcom porn style

"pretty hot and pretty funny"

KEVIN S. (5/5)

Showdown on DVD

"Ron Sullivan (a.k.a. Henri Pachard) delivers another classic adult film. "Showdown" came out at the end of the golden era, so the focus is very much on the sex scenes, which are very well directed. But the plot is fairly thin and nothing special. This DVD has great picture quality, but is bare bones. No extras except for the trailer."

Dominik F. (4/5)

Western Themed Henri Pachard title

"Mid 80s film by Henri Pachard showcases some excellent talent from the industry at the time. The western feel adds a new element to the genre, and an beautifully shot film adds the extra bit."

Tarek E. (4/5)

Altogether Charming

"This was a fun Western romp."
