Hyapatia Lee and Coleen Brennan (aka Sharon Kelly) star. Then, in TASTY, struggling DJ Tasty Tastums realizes that what listeners really want to hear are the sounds of sex! Both RIBALD TALES and TASTY have been restored from their original 35mm negatives.

Good Enough

"Ribald Tales of Canterbury: Overall fine. The sets and costumes are fun and cheesy. The sex scenes get a bit repetitious. Tasty: It's fine. Hyapatia Lee is definitely very pretty, and there's a memorable (sex) scene with a woman with a very strong valley girl accent. Extras: Trailera are appreciated, and I liked the interview with the director. Short and sweet. Packaging: It's a great cover image."

let's take a trip to canterbury

"Come one come all let's taken a trip to Canterbury and have a fun adventure and more. Set in Medieval Times exploring more then just knights and king and queens. In all fairness this was okay I like the fact they got all this old Medieval costumes and set design, the "scenes" was okay ish. Sadly This DVD is no longer available and it oop maybe someday they will release this on bluray. Also good picture quality and sound on the dvd now for the Extras comes with audio commentary and a video interview for the bonus film Tasty"

Tasty Tales of Canterbury

"I'd been curious about RTOC for a while and was annoyed with myself for not buying it before it went OOP, but thankfully some more came into stock and I was able to secure a copy. Wouldn't you know it, of all the films I received that was the only one where the disc had come loose in transit, but thankfully it wasn't scratched too badly! I think I read somewhere that this film cost nearly half a million to make and if that's true, I honestly wouldn't be surprised. It's well filmed, all the music appears to have been written specifically for it (from what I can tell) and it's very well produced and filmed. The storyline is fairly basic, but pretty much in line with the Chaucerian influence. The acting is mostly decent (aside from one particularly dreadful actress) and the sex scenes are well done and most importantly lit correctly, so everyone looks their best. I look forward to listening to the commentary when time allows. I consider Tasty to be a bonus feature (or boner feature). It's a very straightforward story and is good fun. Far more focussed on story and comedy than RTOC and the guy who gives it to Hyapatia is fairly rotund (it's not Bud Lee by the way!), so that was a bit of a shame. This release is OOP now, but if you do see a copy anywhere then I highly recommend buying it!"

Classic

"An all time classic. Still looks great, but deserves an update."

Chaucer would be proud

"Fun, lighthearted comedy based on Chaucer's tale. The women are sexy and attractive, and as a production, the whole thing is far more lavish than your typical adult film. Good value too, as the included movie "Tasty" is also fun. I enjoyed the scenes with Kristara Barrington and Gail Force."

Needs a Blu upgrade

"The feature is chock full of costuming, set pieces, outdoor scenery, all things that could do with an upgrade beyond this dvd. The second film Tasty is not a thematic match to the feature and I don't care. A double feature with another similar period piece might just be too much honestly. A 4 of 5 stars dvd and likely would be a 4 of 5 Blu for me If I could get it."

Hypatia Lee Shines

"A couple of great films by Hypatia Lee. This dual pack contains the best two films from her career. The highlight here is the Ribald Tales of Canterbury, which is set in medieval times that centers around a group of friends trying to one-up each other in tales."

"any feature with Hypathia Lee in it is gold! I hope this will get a blu ray upgrade very soon!"

They really don't make them like this anymore!

"As two of the last big-budget 35mm adult films ever made, both films included in this set are not only hot but also very entertaining. Not to mention another fantastic transfer from VS! I only wish we could get a proper standalone Blu-ray release of these little gems. 'Ribald Tales' alone deserves the hi-def treatment. Great movies but I have to knock off one star for the DVD-only release. Still, get this while you can!"
