"Pair of lesser Bob Chinn films, the first a rambling sex drama with its basis in corrupt fire inspections (surely a first in the adult industry) and the second a rendering of Maugham's 'Rain' that often comes off as an awkward rehearsal of an amateur community summer stock production. Chris Cassidy, in the title role, is fine between the sheets but less impressive when required to act. Overlit and confusingly episodic."

"Sadie is a take on the Somerset Maugham short story 'Rain'. Even stranger, it's filmed in such a way that it could well have been a play, although that kind of makes sense given that it was performed as a play around the time of release and therefore no doubt lends itself to that kind of setup. In terms of storyline, this is absolutely fine and it's actually fairly watchable. As a porn film however, it's not all that great or memorable. All l the acting is pretty good and it's well worth a watch. If Sadie the 'porn play' seemed strange then 'The Seductress' is even stranger. It's about blackmail and the fire department (or fire safety)... yes, really! The storyline is actually fairly interesting, but sadly it is let down in places by some dreadful acting (I don't know the name of the culprit, but she's terrible!). Much like 'Sadie' though, the erotic/adult scenes don't seem to be director Bob Chinn's strong point. In fact I think I've only really enjoyed one of his films - 'Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls'. Perhaps I need to watch a few more, but I've seen at least half a dozen. Anyway, the sex scenes are all perfectly routine and not all that erotic. The ending is the strangest thing about the film, but I won't spoil it! So both movies are worth watching, just for all the wrong reasons."

"This set features two of the better Bob Chinn films from the early 80s. Features such talent as Lisa De Leeuw, these two films are definitely a highlight of the era. The standout here is Sadie which feels like a serious drama through an erotic lens. This classic director is showcased here in this excellent set worth picking up if you are at all interested in his work."
