Wild

"The Peekarama double feature of Purely Physical and Cat House Fever delivers a mix of sultry seduction and wild brothel antics. This release is especially fun because it showcases two very different flavors of golden age adult cinema in one set."

Though technically well done this

"Though technically well done this is typically mid-80s bluemovie with less story and more . . . action. Not a fan."

Laura, Lay There

"Focusing on Purely Physical in this review. I'm just not sure how Laura Lazare didn't become a bigger star. Look at her skin complexion, and her eyes are mesmerizing. What also is mesmerizing is the quality of the transfer on this feature. Anyway, Laura has a few scenes in the VS catalogue so start here -- if you can find a copy -- and then work through her other releases. She's worth it."

Purely Cathouse Fever

"Purely Physical is a movie about a young woman who gets a job as a night clerk at a seedy motel, then starts fantasising about what the people are getting up to in their rooms. It's actually quite a sweet movie in places, if you can believe that! The first couple in particular (Jade Wong is stunning by the way) are very believable in their roles and more generally all the scenes are very well done, stirring feelings which aren't just below the waistline for a change. The only minor let down is the final scene, as the guy she ends up with comes across as a bit of a jerk, or at least in my opinion. Nonetheless, this is quite a good film and one which I think would make a great entry point (uhuhuh huh huh) to anyone not familiar with adult movies from this era (because let's be honest, some of them are completely grim!). Of the two features, this was definitely the best one and now probably one of my favourite adult movies. In Cathouse Fever Ben Affleck lookalike Herschel Savage cheeses it up during the first scene. The stuff they say to each other is somewhat comical at times and the groaning is excessive, which makes it all the less erotic. 'Can I put my love juice all over you? I wanna pour it all over you'. They then go at it again straight away and the noises Becky Savage makes are quite something! I wouldn't go so far as to say manly grunting, but it's not far off... The next scene is even cheesier. It's at this point I realised this was probably supposed to be a comedy, although the use of that word in this instance is subjective. Then it moves to a scene with some incredibly funky disco music - probably the best scene. Turns out this guy has disco music as a theme, as he gets another two funky disco tunes later on. Again, the noises which come out of this woman are something else! It cuts back to the 'comedy' scene... I can't even be bothered to talk about it. Then a hillbilly guy turns up and starts getting it on with one of the other girls. Weird setting, weird looking guy, weird music... just weird really. The same hillbilly (or cowboy) gives the noisy girl a good seeing to while she's dressed as a squaw (sort of). This scene is okay... I won't mention the noises (too late!)... At this point I'm going to summarise. The disco guy gets three scenes and the buffalo bill guy gets two. There's the 'comedy' guy who can't come for some reason which cuts inbetween. Final scene is nothing like the rest of the movie, filmed in a random darkened room with bright lights over the bed, changing colour throughout (as a fantasy). All this is accompanied by electronic music track which sounds like it could have been made by 'Space', of 'Magic Fly' fame. Anyway, once they're done they go at it straight away, which shows some real stamina. It's a bit random that happens twice in this film... strange. Anyway, I can't give this a four because the second movie is a bit hit and miss, although the performance by Becky Savage is quite extraordinary and I believe authentic. I bet she was a handful in bed! Purely Physical is the best of the two though - well worth getting hold of it, if you still can."

5 Stars

"great double bill from Peekarama."

Working Girls

"Kathy Harrington (Laura Lazare) takes a job as a night clerk to help pay for college at Bristol State University. The movie follows various guests as they check in and do whatever it is they do. One of my favorite scenes is Juliet Anderson as Claudia doing it with herself. Becky (Becky Savage no relation to Herschell who also appears here) has fantasies. Rhonda (Rhonda Jo Petty) runs a cathouse in Vegas. Becky decides to turn her fantasies into reality by working at Rhonda’s place."

Purely Physical/Cathouse Fever

"I liked both films. Not much bonus features but for $5 I am certainly not complaining. PQ is good. Glad to have this."
