Presented in partnership with Something Weird Video...
From nudies to roughies to ultra weird regional curiosities, the sexploitation world welcomed any filmmaker working in any genre, so long as the limits of nudity and sex on screen were pushed as far as they could go - but never all the way. DISTRIBPIX, one of the legendary names in the genre (and whose extensive library will be the backbone of this line), will offer single, double, and even triple feature Blu-rays highlighting works from every corner and crevice of softcore smut, from the dawn of nudie cuties to the all-but-hard 70s, with plentiful lost and never on disc films along the way.
During the 1960s, producer David F. Friedman’s ongoing quest to elevate the quality of sexploitation production led to numerous period pieces and costume comedies. Among his most lavish such efforts were THE LUSTFUL TURK (1968) and THE JOYS OF JEZEBEL (1969), each of which has been newly restored in 4K from their 35mm original camera negatives and come to Blu-ray for the very first time from Something Weird + Distribpix.
In THE LUSTFUL TURK (1968), the English aristocrat Emily Barlow is en route to India along with her handmaiden, when pirates seize hold of their ship. Taking the ladies back to their harem, their captors force them to partake in the most unspeakably erotic torments, which Emily reports in detail to her friend Sylvia back home via regularly written letters. Amid the depravity and barbarism of the world in which she's now held captive, the debauched Emily slowly calculates how she might take her revenge. Directed by Byron Mabe (She Freak), this raucous and sensual costume saga was penned by Friedman himself, and features Linda Stiles (Lee Frost’s The Animal) and Harvey Shain (Fugitive Girls).
Jezebel herself has just arrived in hell, but quickly strikes a deal with Lucifer in THE JOYS OF JEZEBEL (1969), so that she can return to earth provided she delivers to Lucifer the beautiful virgin Rachel. However, since the cunning Jezebel has scores to settle, she uses her powers to switch bodies with Rachel, sending the beautiful innocent back to hell in her place! While Lucifer searches for Rachel in hell, Jezebel is free to exact her revenge. An exquisitely beautiful and extraordinarily colorful sexy comedy, from director Peter Perry (Kiss Me Quick), THE JOYS OF JEZEBEL stars Luanne Roberts (101 Acts of Love) and Dixie Donovan (The Notorious Cleopatra).

"I liked both movies. The Joys of Jezebel is my favourite, since it had better acting and much more nudity. But the Lustful Turk also has some very nice babes. Wonderful restorations: the colors are superb, and both movies have very nice photography. The interview with Friedman in the extras is very interesting."
"Excellent picture and sound, includes several extras and superb slipcase art."
"Beautiful nude girls! What not to like. The Lustful Turk is cheesy, but I love it, and The Joys of Jezebel is marvellous. Finally a movie who is more true to the Bible then the rest. I remember when I read the Bible from cover to cover that I found all the so called heroes to be complete assholes. The only, in my view, good and sensible character was Lucifer. And finally I have a movie where he is the good guy and get the beautiful virgin at the end. And I love a happy ending."
"Restoration of these were great. Have been really into these Distribpix releases and been making sure to pick up the releases when they come out. Great art on the slipcase"
"The best presentation of digital and physical media. Would love to buy from them again. They have some eye catching stuff."
"Great restorations. The Joys of Jezebel is the gem. Beautiful package and plenty of extras. Two thumbs up!"
"I love seeing rare films like this get released on disc, even if the actual films leave a lot to be desired. Certainly love seeing films with little to no home media footprint getting a high quality release such as this."
"I found both films pretty dull. But the picture looked good."
"Along with Indicator these are among the few limited editions that I consistently collect."
"So the acting is not great and some of the jokes fall flat but overall an entertaining set. Fantastic restoration and a good amount of extras"
