In the fourth installment of Kirdy Stevens' popular TABOO series, the focus shifts to Dr. Jeremy Lodge (Jamie Gillis), a prominent psychologist who deals with clients who have been traumatized by incest. Unknown to him, his wife Alice (Cyndee Summers) has been having an affair with his brother (John Leslie). After their teenage daughters Robin and Naomi (Ginger Lynn and Karen Summer respectively) are expelled from boarding school, things come to a head when Jeremy discovers the affair and he and Alice split up, each taking one girl. Soon erotic tensions build as Naomi begins to lust after her uncle and Robin becomes more and more fascinated by the concept of incest...

The last TABOO film to receive a theatrical release, TABOO 4 features writer/producer Helene Terrie's most accomplished and daring script along side exceptional performances from Karen Summer, Lynn, Leslie, and Gillis, as well as Honey Wilder reprising her role of Joyce McBride. Easily among the greatest erotic features of the 1980s, Vinegar Syndrome proudly presents TABOO 4 on Blu-ray newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative.

Second Best (after the original) of the Taboo Series

"I enjoyed this film and the special features are great (commentaries & interviews). Highly recommended. Ginger Lynn is a standout performer."

Catalogue No. VS-152

"Although part 4 was not the last entry in the Taboo series, this was the last to be shot on film. It came out at the very tail end of the golden era of adult Cinema and it shows. Lots of typical 80s hair-dos and the focus is very much on the sex scenes, instead of the plot. Still it's a very well directed movie, helmed by the creator of the original Taboo. It's the weakest of the Taboo films, but should be in every collection of classic erotica because of the amazing cast. It's a rather early VS Blu-ray release, but the picture quality is still excellent. Great transfer. There are lots of extras, which is still pretty uncommon for adult titles in the VS/Melusine catalogue. There are 2 commentaries and 2 new interviews."

Such a fun series

"I love the different beats that the Taboo films hit."

Amanda O. (5/5)

Taboo 4

"Probably my least favorite of the series but a solid Ginger Lynn movie."

Roger S. (4/5)

A fitting wind down for a classic series

"Taboo is a legendary series that paved the way for adult films as we know them today. While Taboo 4 doesn’t quit hold up to earlier entries in the series it keeps the legacy going and is worthy of the title."

Travis O. (3/5)

Got this one to finish out the set

"The first 2 will always be my favorites of the series, but this one was still pretty good."

Jeff A. (4/5)

Fall of a franchise

"Okay title bad sad to miss Kay parker"

Taboo 4

"Maybe the worst in Taboo serie, but still pretty good."

2nd favorite after the origianl

"I've now worked my way through the 4 Taboo films that VS has (and it might have been only 3, as apparently Ginger Lynn's role came down to her or Traci Lords, so T4 might have been relegated to obscurity if Lords had won out). I liked 4 second best after the original, but the subject matter is still kind of an ick for me. I mean I know it's just a movie, and I appreciate transgressive cinema, but it's still problematic for me, especially when you get actors as good as Ginger and Jamie Gillis, who plays her father in a very understated (for him) but believable performance, and their climactic scene is played seriously and pushes all my ick buttons 😅. I wish it was played absurdly (I mentioned before that I'd love to see Alex DeRenzy do these instead of the too-earnest Kirdy Stevens and his wife). I was happy to watch the Ginger Lynn and Karen Summers interviews and find that they also were hesitant to do the film because of the subject matter but were nonetheless proud of the result even if it still makes them alternately queasy and turned on; also their stories of the cast and that period in the adult film industry are incredibly fascinating. Gillis is so charismatic and a really good actor, but wow, he sounds like a weird dude!"

Very solid drama, great quality release

"Dreamy ballads that guide erotic scenes which support an adult story about a forbidden subject. The technical side of this film, like the lighting, is excellent. The actors range from adequate to very strong. The first sex scene has a character that seemingly is asleep while she is having sex, which is hard to believe but from then on, the sex is believable and contributes to the story. As with many older adult blu-rays, this lacks subtitles, which is a shame as Gilis tends to speak somewhat muffled. Outside of that, i reckon this film has never looked or sounded better."
