"It’s films like this that make people realize the golden age is more than just standard adult fare. Enjoyable film regardless of the sex scenes. Transfer looks great, I hope now that’s it’s gone out of print Melusine will find a way to release this again, a collection of more script based adult fare in 4k would be great. Nice reversible artwork as well"
"Good Porno Chic film. Restoration is very nice. Features underutilized actress Sharon Thorpe. And mainstream actor James Hong. VS's restoration work is excellent. Interview with Annette Haven is a great extra."
"VinSyn's blu-ray release of China Girl, directed by Paul Aratow, offers a remastered presentation of this intense drama about interracial romance and racial tension in 1970s Los Angeles with decent performances by Annette Haven and Tom Douglass. The transfer improves the film’s gritty aesthetic, enhancing both visuals and sound without losing its raw charm. The release includes insightful bonus features, providing valuable context on the film's cultural significance. While it may not appeal to all viewers due to its melodramatic tone, this Blu-ray is a worthwhile pick for fans of 70s exploitation cinema and those interested in socially-conscious films from that era."
"China Girl is a 1974 adult feature directed by Paul Aratow starring Annette Haven. It was restored from it’s original camera negative and look wonderful on this Blu-ray / DVD combo from Vinegar Syndrome."
"This one was interesting, as it felt almost as a female Bond film in a certain sense. Great transfer as usual, super glad to have picked it up!"
"Been dying to get my hands on this transfer, and the labor day release finally made that possible!"
"A scientist is kidnapped by some Asian criminals and she is "tortured" with sex to spill the beans on some formula that can rule the world etc. Despite film starring Anette Haven and veteran actor James Hong (not in action scene), this film has gotta be one of the boring sex films I have ever seen. There is hardly any action in it. It tries to be an agent adventure at the cost of XXX entertainment and is not that good at it. Well, at least they tried to be a "real" film."
"Very cool film with Annette Haven. Good transfer too."
"Very much a product of its time!"
