What Is A Rollerbaby?
"I was sold on this release from the cover art and I'm glad I could grab a copy of these flicks. I honestly didn't even realize there was a second movie until it arrived in the mail, an always welcome surprise."
This special limited edition embossed and spot gloss slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to 3,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.
PEEKARAMA presents the wildest, rarest, and most scandalous theatrical hardcore double features. Taking its name from one of the earliest "all action" sex theatre chains, each PEEKARAMA release presents two themed, full length feature films, both meticulously restored, thus giving you the opportunity to enjoy an old fashioned dirty movie double feature at home!
Prolific New York based director Carter Stevens made his name by helming fun-filled sex romps with all-star casts. Presented here are two of his early critical and audience successes.
In the future, sex will be illegal…but there will be ROLLERBABIES! In a dystopian world where sex has been deemed a punishable offense to reduce the population, the only form of carnal release can be experienced through explicit action on TV. With an over saturation of hardcore programming, Sherman Frobish’s network is taking a dive…until he devises an ingenious plan to regain viewership: Rollberbabies! Carter Stevens’ loving tribute to sci-fi pulp and comic books is a light and breezy comedy and stars Terri Hall (Story of Joanna).
The Greek God Jupiter cannot understand why humans no longer worship his strength and virility. In an attempt to ‘prove’ his worthiness for praise, he travels to earth on a mission to seduce as many young women as he can, hoping to earn their devotion in the process. All the while, Jupiter’s fellow gods and goddesses form a literal Greek chorus, tracking and assessing his carnal pursuits. Sublimely goofy and starring Georgina Spelvin, Jamie Gillis, Kim Pope, and Eric Edwards, MOUNT OF VENUS is equal parts laughs and explicit action.

"I was sold on this release from the cover art and I'm glad I could grab a copy of these flicks. I honestly didn't even realize there was a second movie until it arrived in the mail, an always welcome surprise."
"Decent quality bluray encodes for two fun titles - Rollerbabies is great fun and has great production values!"
"The Vinegar Syndrome (Peekarama) Blu-ray release of Carter Stevens' Rollerbabies (1976) is a double-feature set alongside Mount of Venus. Reviewers praise the technical presentation for transforming what was once a "grimy" 70s artifact into a vibrant HD experience, though they note the disc is relatively light on supplemental features. Technical Presentation Visual Quality: According to Blu-ray. com, the 1080p AVC-encoded transfer is sourced from the original 35mm negative. While some minor speckling and scratches remain, detail is described as "excellent," with exact facial surfaces and well-defined body textures. Color & Grain: Reviewers from Rock! Shock! Pop! highlight the "lively" colors that favor bright primary hues typical of the film's futuristic aesthetic, supported by a fine, film-like grain structure. Audio: The release features a DTS-HD Master Audio 2. 0 Mono track. Critics note that dialogue is always intelligible and well-balanced with the score, despite occasional minor sibilance or pops. Film Narrative and Reception Premise: Set in a dystopian future where sex is outlawed for population control, a TV executive (played by Alan Marlow) creates a live "roller derby" sex show to boost ratings. Critical Commentary: Reviewers at Letterboxd often describe the film as a "goofy" parody of the 1975 hit Rollerball. However, many point out that the actual roller-skating elements only appear in the final 10 minutes of the feature. Standout Scenes: Critics frequently highlight Suzanne McBain's "mind job" telepathy sequence as the film's most inventive moment, though some find a later "ice cream lubricant" scene to be bizarre or off-putting. Special Features As a Peekarama title, this release focuses more on the films than historical documentaries: Double Feature: Includes the complete feature film Mount of Venus (starring Georgina Spelvin and Jamie Gillis). Supplemental Items: Extras are limited to the original theatrical trailer for Rollerbabies and English SDH subtitles. Packaging: The release includes reversible cover artwork. The first 3,000 copies sold through Vinegar Syndrome featured a limited edition embossed slipcover designed by Earl Kessler, Jr. ."
"This one has quite a bit going for it. Rollerbabies has this Vonnegut-esc satire going on which makes the non pornographic scenes highly entertaining. Great release over all and the slip is a stand out."
"The films are terrible but the packaging is good."
"Very good quality"
"Comedy sci-fi future world of Rollerbabies features outlawed sex, goofy scientist narrator, erotic roller skating battle & a sloppy green ice cream bj. Cool sets & costumes, good soundtrack! Yolanda Savalas! Second feature Mount of Venus has the Roman gods sexually interfering with earthlings, Jamie Gillis is Jupiter. Corny jokes and an orgy in the cotton ball clouds. More funny than sexy overall but still the good stuff, worth getting."
"Another very nice release by Melusine. The slipcover looks and feels of quality construction. The whole presentation of the movie is well done. I love the reversible covers and the art is great! Shipping was safely and securing packed so no damaged incurred during transit. I’m looking to watching it soon!"
"Fun movies from Carter Stevens."
"Funny little parody movie but not the best porn movie. Like the cast of Rollerbabies but the premise is a bit of a farce. Mount of Venus is pretty bad, nice girls and some good scenes but not what I was hoping for. Still nice release and Rollerbabies was funny, but the whole roller-aspect of the movie is not really the focus. ."
